Girls Christmas Bedroom Makeover
I am SOOOO excited to share this room with you today! This is my daughter Ireland's room. We call her Ila and she is a ball o' fun. She is super sweet and kinda spunky. She is super nurturing and kind like a little mommy. She is quite the helper with her little brothers! She has a heart of gold so when we have chance to do something special for her, we try to give her our very best - she deserves it.
When it came to redecorating her bedroom, I wanted to make sure she had a safe little haven to sneak away to. Sometimes in a house with two toddler boys, she ends up playing with trucks and trains more than she'd like to so creating a space where she can play with her barbie house and read her books was important. So this was the final result for this room and she loves it - so I love it too!
We started with a new bedding set from Beddy's. We knew we wanted to upgrade her mattress from a full to a queen because her room gets used as the guest room when we have company in town and a full bed in a loft was inconvenient. We decided to go with the Chic White set from Beddy's and also have the Beddy's bedskirt which I totally recommend because the way they designed it, it stays in place and looks perfect with the bedding.
Let me tell you, I am a Beddy's LIFER. I can't imagine why anyone would want something else for their kids because its a sure way to have their rooms looking super spiffy all the time. Besides the obvious convenience of having all-in-one bedding that just zips up, its amazingly comfortable. It's not too hot or too thin - it's just right. The minky inside fabric is incredibly soft and the quality and customer service of the Beddy's company is just beyond!! I have personally met the owners and the team behind this wonderful company and I don't believe there is a better team out there!
If you want to know more about them, check out their youtube here and watch some of the awesome videos they have about their bedding.
And let's not forget the man of the hour - Santa! The santa pillow is from my friend Kendra's shop So Vintage Chic.
Next, we ordered a new mattress from Christeli. These mattresses are handmade and very luxurious. My husband and I always get in bed with her every night to read her a story and pray. We spend about 20 minutes in here and when those 20 minutes are over, I have the HARDEST time leaving her bed. I always consider just sleeping in there because it is so darn comfortable. It molds to your body just right and feels like a cloud and I can't really find a better way to explain it. These mattress arrive in a convenient box rolled up right to your door and are a breeze to set up. Christeli has several different styles to choose from so there is something for everyone. We have the Versailles 10" mattress. If you are in the market for a new mattress, please check them out first!
When we decided to trade her loft bed for a more traditional bed with a headboard and frame, I decided to move our barn door headboard from the master into her room. When we bought the barn door, it just happened to fit a California king bed perfectly but it was going to be a little wide for a queen so my first thought was to add lamps to either side to fill in that extra space. These wall lamps are from Lighting Design Company and the brand is Savoy House. They come in different finishes, too!
Above the headboard, I wanted some light and airy decor to bring in a feminine touch to the wood headboard. The paper flowers are made by my friend at Flower Voyage. She is super talented! Anemones are my favorite flower!
The white felt garland and the custom rose gold sequin XOXO banner are from the cutest shop called Pearl & Jane. I had the pleasure of meeting the shop owner and she is a very special woman with loads of talent! Check out her shop!
For the ceiling light, we chose this three light drum shade light fixture from Lighting Design (manufacturer is Minka). This light is super classic but with a feminine touch with the sheer drum shade. Its really bright with the three bulbs and just the perfect touch to this room.
I thought about keeping our old drapes up but when I saw these black and white pom panels from Frosting Home Decor, I thought they would be the perfect addition to this room. They were the last and final piece I added to this room and when they went up, I finally felt like this room was complete!
And do you recognize my angels wings? I painted them! They were a slate gray but I added some dry brush white chalk paint to them and spray painted the edges gold. I love them even more now! You can find the original wings HERE.
The gold dot decals and adorable sequin hanger are from Fancy It Pretty on Etsy!
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I posted a wallpaper by Samantha Santana that I instantly fell in love with. You can see it HERE. I would have DIED to do this wallpaper in here but we plan on moving in the next few months - so maybe at the next house!!! I decided that I could settle for wrapping paper in the print for the time being but I hope to use it as wallpaper soon!! This gorgeous print (along with many other amazing prints) can be found HERE.
I wanted to leave you with a few other answers to some questions I get on Instagram. The rug is from RugsUSA and is on major SALE for Black Friday right now!!
The Christmas tree is one of my most popular inquiries. This adorable Charlie Brown tree is the Nobles Fir from Grandin Road. I've added the frosted light bulbs from Grandin Road and the bunny ear wall hook is from Anthropologie. The babe cave sign is from my friend Kristy at The Painted Nest.
The pink flokati stool is from World Market and the sequin tree skirt is rose gold sequin fabric from Hobby Lobby!
The watercolor bunny was painted by me - believe it or not!
Well, there you have it! Our daughter's room is complete (just in time to move again - lol). I think this pallet is simple enough to fit into any new house and thats what I love about it! Please let me know your thoughts and questions - I hope to hear from you!
Thanks for stopping by the blog!!
