Welcome to the "Here Comes Santa" Blogger Home Tour. If you are joining me from Kindred Vintage Co, welcome to my blog House of Five - I am so happy to have you!
I want to thank our partners at Grandin Road for providing not only the most impeccable service to our bloggers, but also beautiful products to style for this holiday tour. I've worked with dozens and dozens of companies as a blogger, and few have impressed me like the wonderful people at Grandin Road.
I am thrilled to welcome you into our home and share our favorite Christmas spot with you: our living room! This is where we gather together on Christmas morning around the fireplace and the kids open their stockings. So come on in and take a peek with me!
Around Christmas time, this area becomes are favorite place to be. This is where we gather every Christmas morning and the kids wake up eager to see if Santa came and ate his cookies and filled their stockings. I love seeing their faces when they see that he visited our house and left them a few goodies to open. I think every year they are more surprised than the previous year and it just gets better and better.
I love decorating this area for Christmas - it brings me so much joy to see it all lit up and glowing. This year, I wanted to try a different, more non-traditional look to our main living area and used pink, white, and black to make this space unique and special for our last Christmas in this house.
The first thing I did was add the Grandin Road Brayden mirror to our mantel and it was the perfect piece to start with. It shows off the twinkling lights so well and makes the room look bigger and brighter.
The PEACE Marquee sign came next from Grandin Road - it is especially beautiful at night. These marque letters are battery operated and can also be hung on a wall so they are perfect for any space. They are set to a timer so every day they turn on and off on their own - set it and forget it! Easy and pretty - the perfect mantel decor!
To fill in the spaces around the mirror and marquee letters, I used the Grandin Road white dover candlesticks. This set comes as a set of 5 in varied heights and designs. You will see in other photos that I used my other candlesticks on our sofa table.
The Juju hat in the reflection is a lovely piece of art from Jujuboutik - I highly recommend them if you are in the market for one yourself! They add a ton of interest to any room.
We brought in our Grandin Road bench from our bedroom for extra seating because we will be hosting our family here this year on Christmas. With feet that roll, its easy to move it around as needed! The cozy striped fox faux fur blanket adds a special touch to the space.
And for the world's softest (and I'm not exaggerating) faux fur throw pillows, you need to check these out. I got these from Frontgate and I'm sort of obsessed with them. This is the Timberwolf style.
This shag rug is a new addition to the room - it is the Dolcina rug from RugsUSA and its on sale for Black Friday - YAY!!
We also added these gorgeous lamps from Grandin Road on our sofa table. My three year old broke my other ones but truth be told, I was ready to say goodbye to those anyway. These are the Elise table lamps and they are stunning. They have a clear acrylic base and textured white body. The taupe shades contrast the white perfectly.
This really is my favorite place to unwind at night with some blankets, a bowl of popcorn, and a Christmas movie.
I wanted to leave you today with a treat! Now I know this is pretty expected and typical, but we are super traditional when it comes to leaving a treat for Santa - nothing too fancy. We always leave him a plate of classic chocolate chip cookies. I hear they are Santa's favorite treats ;)
I've included our favorite go-to recipe for you. This recipe comes from the blog Lil Luna and just like the title, they really are the BEST! I love that they are not too sweet - just right!
