Tufted Chairs on a Budget: A Review
I wanted to write a quick review on these beauties here. I haven't placed them where they will go permanently but that may take some time so I styled them really quickly right here just to show you.
This isn't a sponsored post, I didn't receive a discount on these, nor did I get them for free. And I hope you know that anytime I give a review on something (sponsored or not), I always have a say about what I choose to use and if I like it or not! So here goes. . . .
I bought these grey tufted chairs from Amazon for $250 each (with free Prime shipping). You can find them here: Watson Natural Linen Fabric Club Chair. Personally, I think $250 is a steal. Most chairs on the budget side of things (and I'm always on a budget) run about $250-$400 for a similar look so these are obviously on the low end. So price alone, there is one point for the chairs.
I think they look very pretty and appear to be pretty high quality. The fabric seems durable and the structure seems very strong. I usually don't love nail-head trim on chairs unless it's done well and I think the nail-head trim on these is just subtle enough to give it a little extra flair without looking tacky.
The color is just perfect for me. My house is far beyond 50 shades of grey. It's like 3,000 shades of grey at this point. I am a grey hoarder. But I'm still fairly picky about my grey. I don't like it too blue or too beige. The color of these chairs is perfect. They call it "natural" but its more of a light grey to me.
So far, all good right?! Well, I do have a few things I don't love. The chairs are very short. I am of average height (5'5") and these chairs just have a low feeling to me. The legs are short and the back of the chair is just too short in my opinion. When you go to sit down in a low chair, you get a little more momentum than you might with a higher chair and so it would be nice to sink down into a pillowy soft seat. BUT! That is not the case my friends. Your bum is rudely awakened by something that feels like a box in the middle of the cushion. I've tried figuring out what that hard feeling is coming from but I just believe it's coming from the structure of the chair. That was a big bummer. I will say though, once you've been sitting a while, that initial hard feeling is completely gone. We have just noticed it when we first sit down.
We are going to keep them even though they aren't 100% perfect. I just love the style of them and you can't beat the price.
So in all here are my pros and cons:
- Beautiful and stylish
- Natural true light grey color
- Well built
- Extra wide seats
- Low price
- Free shipping
- Fast delivery
- Easily assembly (legs only)
- Low backs
- Low seats
- Firm cushions
- Uncomfortable when you first sit down
- Black shiny legs (natural wood would have been better)
I hoped you all enjoyed this review and please let me know if you would like to see more reviews on the blog! Thanks for stopping by!
