Hey guys! I'm so glad you stopped by my blog today because I am thrilled to give you a tour of a special place to me! It's a place I've created many Christmas memories at: my own mom and dad's house!
I have years of happy memories of Christmases spent at my parent's house with their beautiful decorations and traditions and I wanted to share it with you this holiday season! Hope you enjoy!
Every year we all gather here for Christmas Eve for a hearty prime rib dinner where we pretty much eat our weight in amazing food and wine. Can't really go wrong there. But one of the most special parts to me is all the hard work my parents put into making their home look so beautiful.
A special tradition we have started in the past couple years is gathering around the tree in the living room after dinner and letting the kids open one gift. Santa (aka my dad who is a great sport) comes to the door with his big red bag full of presents for the grandkids and each of them opens a special pair of matching (because there isn't anything much cuter than kids in matching clothes) pajamas.
With all of us together, Christmas music playing, the fire going and the twinkling lights in the tree, it really is one of my favorite days of the year.
One of my favorite things about my mom's decorating is that she doesn't forget the details. Behind every corner is a beautiful new site to see and she carries her decor throughout the entire house. As you enter the kitchen, this gorgeous garland catches your eye.
The little vignettes in every corner bring the whole space together.
Can you see why this is a special place to me? In all honesty though, we could have a great time together with no decorations, no pretty trees, and no twinkling lights. It's about the time we spend together and the memories we make here that have meant so much to me. Christmases here will always have a special place in my heart.
Thank you so much for popping in and letting me share this home tour with you today. I hope it brings you some inspiration.
