Still living in a snow globe here and I’m ready for that spring feeling again. I’m just thankful our school district is roughing it and keeping school open - I am not about to miss out on summer days 😅 Hope you are having better weather where you are!! 🤗
🥶 They are saying that Seattle is going to have the snow-pocalypse over the next few days. Snow storm plans? We’ll be here. DŌ-ing cookieDō things with edible and bake-able @cookiedonyc and you can too with a 10% off code FEB10. 🥶 So many play on words in one caption, I dō apologize. 😘 Stay warm friends!
I’ve been itching to get back to decorating with a romantic and French vibe and this picture just inspires me so much! It’s from @shabbyfufu - always delivering the romantic and shabby decor goals. Her feed is filled with all sorts of beauty 🤩. Make sure to give her a visit and follow if you aren’t already!! 💖
Sometimes I wish my caption could just be a gif and you would immediately just get it without any words spoken. You feel me? Ok, great, back to my lazy Saturday morning. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend 😘💕
Keeping a watchful eye out and snarling at anyone who dares walk by our house with another dog - uhh the audacity 😜. Swipe for his amused face.
Happy Sunday friends! I hope you are having a restful and beautiful day and taking some time for yourself! Nothing says peace and serenity like the beautiful images of @frenchcountrycottage. This is my Sunday mood today 😍💖. Did you know she has a gorgeous book of her incredible photos you can order on Amazon? It’s a must have! Have a great rest of your weekend xoxo
After just 2 years with this decor, she told me she’s ready to change everything. The apple never falls far from the tree 🤪. I just updated her rug to a bigger rug from @safavieh because our old one was losing its softness. She’s a fan - and so is he 🐶💕. #safavieh #lovesafavieh #girlsroom#targetdoesitsgain#pbteen#kidsroom
Yup. I’m in love. This gorgeous kitchen is one of my favorites. @designthusiasm has amazing design inspiration. January is my favorite time of the year to gather as much inspiration as I can. She’s a must follow if you aren’t already! Have a wonderful night friends! xo
Do you keep your entry looking winter beautiful after Christmas? This is inspiring me to freshen up my front door again after I removed all the Christmas decor. This belongs to my sweet friend Sheila @maisondecinq and it’s simply perfect and could easily be left up past the holidays. If you want tons more inspiration, visit @maisondecinq and her blog - it’s beautiful! Hope you are enjoying your night xoxo❤️
Merry Christmas from my heart to yours 💖

2016 Home Decor Trends to Look For

December 28, 2015 Ashley Hale

I can't believe it's nearly 2016. The older I get, the faster the years go. Although, it went fast, I am happy to start the new year. I love the idea of a fresh start and new beginnings!

As we put away our Christmas decor, the house is beginning to feel a little empty. It looks like a blank canvas just waiting to be redecorated. If I'm being honest though, it gives me a little anxiety. It looks so bare without the Christmas decor and it makes me want to go shopping! But of course, we can't just go redecorating our entire home every year as the trends change. That's the thing about trends, they change and pass. Your style will always be yours. Trends are fun but they shouldn't define your style. If you love a look that isn't on the current trend list, stick with it. Your home is a reflection of you and the loved ones you live with and thats all that matters!

Even though, I can't always change my whole house around for a trend, it doesn't mean I don't love them. I just take them with a grain of salt. I use them as inspiration but leave behind the ones that don't represent my personal style.

As I read up on the trends for 2016, I couldn't help but think of some fellow design friends who have some of these up and coming styles in their home already. I thought it might be a fun way to share these popular trends with you and share some of my friend's homes with you at the same time! It was hard to just grab a few snapshots because I have about 500 favorite instagrammers I wanted to share but I selected just these for this post. And even though these homes fit in with the trends that experts are expecting to see, I truly believe these looks are timeless and we will be seeing these for years to come!

So here are your 2016 trends to look for:

1. Golds and mixed metals

Gold will be huge this year but you'll see designers mixing their golds with all sorts of metals to break it up a bit and make the gold stand out more.

2. Muted, dusty tones

Muted greens and dusty blues and pinks will be in tons of stores. These colors work well as neutrals without going with white and beige.

3. Navy

Navy is one of my favorite colors so I'm happy to see this color hit the trend list!

4. Textures

Layers of textures make a home feel extra cozy and inviting.

5. Florals

When I think florals, I instant think back to the 90's and I'm not even mad about it! I love pops of florals when done right!

6. New Plants (out with the fig trees and in with palm and olive trees).

Experts say the fiddle leaf fig tree should be replaced with palms and olive trees but I personally love them all!

7. Baby pink

Baby pink is hard to do right but with the right tone, it can be a show stopper!

8. Muted Neutrals and simple whites

Monochromatic rooms make things appear bigger and more airy.

So there you have it! These are some of the most popular trends you'll be seeing in the new year. Do any of these styles fit your personal style? Do none of these fit your style? Whatever the case, remember that trends come and go, but style is forever! Have your own personal style and be proud of it!

I hope you all have a fun New Years and I appreciate you visiting the blog!

Until next time!
