Thanksgiving tablescape 2015
Hello again! Is anyone else's house seasonally confused like mine? I have debris from three different holidays all over the place: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Although Christmas is easily my favorite holiday to decorate for, the time calls for a little attention on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving used to be my least favorite holiday. But in recent years, I have come to appreciate it more as I have much to be thankful for. I am so thankful for my loving husband who I get to do life with everyday. He is my very best friend. Im thankful to have my three kids who are healthy and happy. I am thankful for my health and that God has given me opportunities to share my passion which is creativity and art. I feel blessed, oh so undeservingly blessed!
I wanted to practice a little creativity today so I thought I would share a tablescape idea with you in hopes it will leave you with a little inspiration if you are hosting family and friends this year.
Apples have been at the center of my fall decor this year ever since I saw these perfectly real looking apples at World Market. I paired them with pumpkin salad plates from Pier 1 and mixed the look with black and white checks .
For the centerpiece, I used a mix of apples, pinecones, pumpkins and frosted fruit along with my wood dough bowl and wheat tied with burlap ribbon from Hobby Lobby. The runner is from World Market and its one of my favorite dining accessories to use because it goes with so many different loos. The striped candles are from the holiday collection at World Market from 2014. I believe they have new colors this year in the same candles.
For the napkins, I used a napkin ring to give them shape but laid the top half under the salad plate and let the rest hang down. I feel like this gives it a little depth and fancies it up a bit. Because you know I like to be fancy!
The look is more colorful than the normal decor you see around my house and I love that. I love the unexpected around the holidays and I've always been a huge fan of red around this time of year.
Here are a few more views from this Thanksgiving tablescape...
Well, one more thing I am thankful for.... YOU! Thank you for stopping by, following along, just poking around the blog. Whatever it is that brought you here, I'm so thankful!
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Until next time!
